====== RDRP/SHC Collaboration ====== We appreciate the fact that you all are running assessments for the Reading & Dyslexia Research Program (RDRP). This page will be updated to contain all the information you'll need to make this process work smoothly. **NOTE** This page is a work in progress. Because there are many members of our lab that are actively working on developing documentation, the best place to address your emails is going to be brainlab@uw.edu. ===== Workflow ===== ^ SHC ^ RDRP ^ | **Prior to start of quarter**| |Sends list of dates/times/supervisors to RDRP prior to the start of the quarter| | | | Drop off all protocols needed for the quarter’s evaluations and digital audio recorder to the Clinic Office.| | **During quarter**| | | Alert relevant supervisor when subject has been scheduled (or if no one is scheduled), and uploads intake information into REDCap. This needs to be a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the evaluation date. Drop off parking voucher and participant payment at Clinic Office.| | Supervisor accesses subject intake info from REDCap, saves pdf into ODB folder, prints/creates actual folder for students, which will live in the usual Eval Folder space in the computer lab. | | | Students practice and prepare to administer RDRP tests (**order: PPVT, TOWRE, CTOPP**), as well as any other relevant speech/language assessments deemed necessary by the team. Prepopulate all RDRP protocols with the subject ID (NOT initials) and date of evaluation. | | | Students confirm evaluation day/time with family, and ask the parents if they are willing to participate in a parent interview that is not part of the registry, but is for their own learning | | | Students video AND audio record the entire session. | | | Students score all assessments, and upload audio file to appropriate ODB folder. | | | Students return scored protocols to supervisor. | | | (Clinical Simulation of Parent Conference?) | | | Team will notify family of results indicating the need for additional speech/language testing and/or treatment | | | Supervisor puts protocols in Clinic Office and emails Patrick that they are available. | | | | Pick up scored protocols from Clinic Office.| ===== REDCap ===== We use REDCap for all of our screening, recruitment, surveys, data collection, and data storage. We have our system set up so that the only records that can be accessed by the SHC are those of subjects that you are running assessments for. You do not need to worry about accessing, modifying, or deleting data, as your permissions have been intentionally limited to remove any possibility of human error. So feel free to explore our system to your heart's content without fear of reprisal! ==== Gaining Access ==== Please do the following to gain access to REDCap: - Navigate here and sign in with your UW NetID - Email brainlab@uw.edu from the same UW NetID requesting access - Send a follow up email 3 business days later if you have not gotten a response ==== Data Structure ==== The RDRP stores identifiable data separate from all other data. 'sid' and 'record_id' are persistent variables between these two data structures. The RDRP will supply the SHC with the Subject ID (SID or 'sid'). These SIDs will take the format AA123. The numbers in the SID directly corresponds to the variable 'record_id'. ==== Registry ==== The registry contains all identifiable information for the subjects, as well as the consent forms. All of the data that you're likely to be interested in is contained in the form "Screening". To access this form: - Sign into REDCap - Make sure you are on the "My Projects" tab (located at the top of the page) - Click on "RDRP Registry" - On the left side panel, click "Record Status Dashboard" - If not already selected, choose "SHC" from the drop down list next to "Displaying Data Access Group" - Click the colored dot under "Screening" in the row that corresponds to the subjects SID ==== Repository ==== The repository contains all of the responses from surveys that the subject/parent has provided, and will also be where all the data lives once is has been entered. Use the same basic instructions as above, instead navigating to the "RDRP Repository". On the "Record Status Dashboard" any of the forms with colored dots underneath may have data that you're interested in.
