On sabbatical

The neurobiology of taste preference, including ways in which experience and genetic factors can influence taste preference and intake. A particular focus of our work is on taste aversion learning as a model of neural plasticity. Work includes studies of

  1. the neurobiology of taste aversion learning
  2. factors associated with genetic predispositions to consume large amounts of alcohol, using rodent models; and
  3. sodium appetite and preference.
