Our lab studies signaling events that control the architecture of the developing brain. We use biochemistry, cultured neurons and gene targeting in mice to dissect the mechanisms that coordinate neuron migrations during development of the cortex and other brain regions. We are particularly interested in the roles of protein phosphorylation and the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Methods include mouse knockouts, neuronal cultures, RNA interference, in utero electroporation and immunocytochemistry.p>
