Our lab studies the embryonic and early postnatal development of the cerebral cortex. We are especially interested in understanding the role played by developmental transcription factors in determining cell migration, axonal connections, and arealization. Most of our experiments are done using mice, including several different transgenic and knockout strains. Methods include cell culture, slice culture, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, bromodeoxyuridine birthdating, tract tracing, and electroporation. |
