Course Description

Explores select prose sections of the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) in conjunction with English translations and commentaries. Emphasis on close readings, the grammatical insights of textual criticism, and the interpretive strategies and agendas of the English translations.

The course meets in Denny 211, Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10:30-11:50 AM

No Mid-Term exam!

Final exam: Monday, June 4, 2007: 8:30 – 10:20 AM

No class on:

  • Monday, May 28: Memorial Day
  • Please let me know if you will be unable to attend any class sessions due to religious holidays.
