Paul YagerDepartmental Graduation Celebration – June 8th, 2012

It is our pleasure to invite you to our BIOEN Graduation Ceremony on June 8th, 2012.  Graduating students should RSVP by 5PM on May 25th, 2012. Congratulations, and we look forward to seeing you at the ceremony.

Location: Hogness Auditorium
Hours:  Graduates will be given instructions at 4:45-5pm. Doors will open at 5pm. The ceremony starts at 5:15pm. Reception will follow at the South Campus Center 316 and 3rd floor lobby.
Dress code: Tie and jacket for males; business formal appreciated.
Caps and Gowns are strongly recommended for PhD students, and optional for MS, MME, PHARBE and BS students.
Event Parking – If you wish to park on campus, pre-paid parking permits will be required for this event. Students should purchase these permits for themselves and their guests through the order form between May 1 to May 20, 2012 (first-come, first served basis through the UW Commencement Registration/Order form at http://www.washington.edu/graduation/tickets).

NanoBio Seattle

The Fourth International NanoBio Conference will held in Seattle on July 23-26, 2012.  More than 35 internationally renowned speakers from across the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology will visit Seattle this July to discuss recent advances in tools, materials, devices and translational medical applications.

2012 NESAC/BIO Workshop - August 13-15, 2012

Surface Characterization of Biomaterials
Learn to Characterize Biomaterial Surface Composition and Structure

The NESAC/BIO Surface Characterization Workshop included lectures and surface analysis demonstrations. Demonstrations on NESAC/BIO instruments provide application examples for the material covered in the work shop lectures. Attendees learn the capabilities of surface analysis methods and how to intelligently review data received from surface analysis laboratories.

BS Bioe information session

*We ask that freshmen attend an information session before requesting an individual appointment.*  Part 1 of the info session lasts 50 minutes and covers admissions, our curriculum, and undergraduate research. Part 2 is OPTIONAL and lasts up to 30 minutes: students who have individual schedule questions can stay and the advising staff will handle those questions in person. Students who plan to attend part 2 should print and bring a current transcript or have it loaded on a laptop.
