The UW Department of Bioengineering is one of the fastest-growing departments on campus, with a diverse and talented group of individuals that includes 117 on-campus graduate students, 26 evening Master of Medical Engineering students, 97 undergraduate students, and 107 staff members, including 35 postdoctoral research fellows.
Of our 29 core faculty, 37 adjunct faculty, and 35 affiliate faculty, most senior faculty members have attained the highest grade level in their professional societies, including NAE, AIMBE, BMES, IEEE, and AVS. In terms of prolific research accomplishments, our faculty is without equal: twenty five percent of all recent patents issued to the UW were received by bioengineering faculty.
