Mitochondrial redox biology
Skeletal muscle aging
Mitochondria and environmental health and toxin exposure
Our lab uses an integrative approach to investigate the role of mitochondria in disease and pathology. The interaction between the mitochondria and cell environment plays a critical role in determining not only mitochondrial energetics, but also effects all aspects of cell function. To better understand these interactions we combine in vivo and ex vivo analyses of mitochondrial function with proteomics and tissue and organismal level physiology.
