Admissions Process for Domestic Students
Thank you for your interest in applying to our graduate program. Only U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and immigrants may use the domestic application. If you are not a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or immigrant, please to go to the international applicant procedures page.
Our deadline for domestic applicants is JANUARY 15, 2009 for Autumn 2009 admission. All application materials must be received (not postmarked) in the appropriate office by JANUARY 15, 2009 in order to be considered for admission. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be reviewed. We are unable to make any exceptions to this policy.
Selected candidates will be invited for a required interview during MARCH 25 - 28, 2009. All applicants are asked to keep this time period open. We are unable to interview applicants at any other time.
Below is the list of required materials that must be submitted for admission consideration. One set of application materials is received by the University of Washington Graduate School and one set of application materials is received by the Department of Bioengineering.

University of Washington Graduate School Application Materials:
- One (1) Graduate School Application completed online (includes $50 application fee)
Department of Bioengineering Application Materials:
- Official GRE scores, taken within 5 years, directly reported from ETS to UW Bioengineering
- UW institutional code: 4854
- GRE department code: 1603
- One (1) set of official transcripts from all academic institutions attended
- One (1) Dept. of Bioengineering Admissions Form [pdf] [doc] - make sure to fill out both pages (Please see the Graduate School Application for more information)
- If you are not able to save and upload the Department of Bioengineering Admissions Form to the online application, you may select one of the following options:

- Mail the form via postal mail to us using the address below
- If you are not able to save and upload the Department of Bioengineering Admissions Form to the online application, you may select one of the following options:
- Three (3) letters of recommendation (Please see the Graduate School Application for more information).
- If any of your letter of recommendation writers prefer to use postal mail instead of the online system, their letters should be sent to the Department of Bioengineering at the address below along with the paper version of the letter of recommendation evaluation form.
