Seattle Sights

Nestled among mountains and water, Seattle is a rapidly changing city where vestiges of its lumber-town roots share space with myriad biotechs and dot-coms. While its traffic is now notorious, the Emerald City boasts considerable public green space, an active arts community, and a unique and scenic transportation system—the Washington State Ferries. You'll see most of Seattle's precious warm and sunny days in August; there are few places as beautiful when it's at its best. Take advantage of the variety of outdoor activities available both in town and farther afield in the Pacific Northwest: stroll through the historic Pike Place Market and Seattle's many parks, hike the nearby mountain trails, or kayak part of the Washington Water Trails.
