AOU 2001 Meetings, Seattle, WA

Attention All AOU runners!

The All Out Ostrich Uproar will be held at the Seattle AOU. We will run a nice 5k route along scenic Lake Washington. Race begins at 6am, Friday August 17. Staying with our student emphasis, we will time runners separately within the following classes: students, post-docs and young (45 years or less) professionals, and mature (over 45 years) professionals. Eggs and ribbons to be awarded to males and females in each class. If you are interested in joining in the race, please sign up on the registration form or at the registration desk by noon Thursday. Suggested donation: $10. Proceeds from the run will benefit the Van Tyne Research Fund.

Softball in Seattle

The traditional USA vs. Canada softball series will be continued at the 2001 AOU/SCO meeting. The game will be played along the beatiful shores of Lake Washington on Friday, 17 August. We will start immediately after the SCO General Annual Meeting, about 18:00, on Friday afternoon. Please bring your own mitt and extras if possible. Bats, balls and lemonade will be provided. If you are interested in playing please email Rob Faucett (rfaucett@u.washington.edu) or sign up at the registration desk by Thursday afternoon.
