Move your mouse over the map to see the risk of hip fracture per 10,000 women per year. Which countries have the lowest rates? Why do some countries have such high rates? (This works using Internet Explorer).

Most data are used with permission from an abstract by A. Oden, JA Kanis, and colleagues. They reviewed published sources and material from the World Health Organization. Risks in countries colored blue are from other references (Adebajo, Aspray, Melton, and Pollitzer ), and risk in India estimated from Indian persons in Singapore.
