BRIDGES⁴ is a 12 week (June 24th - Sept. 13th) program in the summer and nine months during the academic year. It has laboratory positions for students interested in biomedical research internship experience. BRIDGES⁴ students are on the University of Washington payroll. The BRIDGES⁴ Program is open to Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho students only.

All students must have successfully completed one year of undergraduate studies including at least one year-long series in calculus or science with a GPA of 2.8 or higher. The BRIDGES⁴ Program focuses its resources on underrepresented (i.e., African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Hispanic/Mexican American) students that are US citizens or permanent residents, however no student will be denied the opportunity to apply to or participate in the program.
