Postdoctoral Fellowships

At the BRTC, postdoctoral fellows complete rotations as leaders of each of our research teams: Treatment, Assessment, Data, Training, and Adherence.  Fellows’ responsibilities include such tasks as data analysis and manuscript preparation, providing administrative support to clinical staff, overseeing adherence of research protocols, coding treatment adherence of research therapists, and providing supervision and support to junior level research personnel on the treatment studies (including undergraduate research assistants, work-study students, graduate students, and the participant coordinator).  As a result, fellows receiving hands-on experience in the day-to-day tasks of running and managing all aspects of large-scale clinical trials.

Over the years, Dr. Linehan has successfully trained a number of postdoctoral fellows (a total of 12 including the current fellow). Over half of them went on to research and academic positions and developed a career in treatment development and empirical investigations of difficult to treat clients. A number of them went on to administrative and/or clinical training positions working to develop, evaluate, and disseminate evidence-based treatments.
