The University of Washington Business School announced today the gift of $2 million from the PACCAR Foundation, to help fund the construction of a new building complex to accommodate the long-term growth of its nationally ranked school.

"PACCAR has been a strong UW supporter for many years. I’m grateful for this gift and for PACCAR sponsoring our annual $25,000 Award for Teaching Excellence, and endowing the Paul Pigott-PACCAR Professorship," Dean Yash Gupta said. "This latest gift will brings us closer to realizing our dream of building a world-class facility for the Business School."

Since the Business School began its building fundraising efforts in 2002, it has raised $25 million from private donors, as well as a commitment of $23 million from the University of Washington toward the $105 million project.

Charles Pigott, former chairman, president and chief executive officer of PACCAR Inc., holds the UW Business School's Edward V. Fritzky Endowed Visiting Chair in Leadership. Mark Pigott is the current chairman and chief executive officer of PACCAR.

PACCAR is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of high-quality, light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF and Foden nameplates. It also provides financial services and distributes truck parts related to its principal business. Additionally, the Bellevue, Washington-based company manufactures winches under the Braden, Gearmatic and Carco nameplates.
