GRADUATION APPLICATIONS
To officially graduate and receive your diploma showing Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration you must submit a graduation application through the UW Business School. You must initiate this process, as graduation applications are not submitted automatically upon completion of graduation requirements.
When to Apply for Graduation:
To qualify for GSP registration for your final two quarters, you must apply for graduation three quarters ahead of time. GSP gives students registration priority for majors/options into which they've been admitted; it does not override restrictions for other majors/options.
- If you choose not to take advantage of GSP:
You may file a graduation application within the first three weeks of the quarter in which you will finish your degree requirements. Make an appointment to see an adviser in the UPO before the third Friday of the final quarter.
After the first three weeks of the quarter, applications for graduation will take effect the following quarter.
How to Apply for Graduation:
- Sign up on-line at: http://www.badm.washington.edu/undergrad/ga.asp
- Watch your email for a notice from the Undergraduate Program Office (UPO) telling you that the application is ready for you to sign.
- Come to the UPO 137 Mackenzie Hall, approve and sign the application, and submit it to the front desk.
How to Add an Option:
You may graduate in an option for which you have completed all the requirements, even if you have not been formally admitted into that option. As soon as you have registered for the final class required for the option, make an appointment with an adviser to file a replacement graduation application.
There is one commencement ceremony per year and it is in mid-June. If you graduate any time during the academic year (autumn, winter,or spring), you may participate in the June commencement ceremony. Summer graduates may choose to participate in the June commencement either before or following their August graduation date. If they choose the June before, they must apply to graduate by the third week of spring quarter, but their names will not be listed in the commencement program until the following year.
A DARS report (Degree Audit Reporting System) shows how all your courses (UW,transfer &courses in progress) apply toward your requirements for graduation as a business student. If you are doing a formal option, these requirements will also be included. Your degree audit is available through the Personal Services section of MyUW. You may display a new audit or view the one you previously selected. It will show you how you are progressing in business and any option if you have selected one. You can also see what courses you've satisfied in a different major, if you are considering a double degree or changing majors.
LONG-RANGE PLANNING APPOINTMENTS
Long-range planning appointments You may make a half-hour appointment to see an adviser in the Business School to review your academic plan. Appointments are also available for students who need to have their degree audits updated or corrected. Schedule an appointment by phone (206-685-3400) or stop by the front desk in the UPO.
