------ review of last week change over (ssh)

   character of questions was different
   questions seemed to take longer to answer
   some returning folks noticing mail connection also gone (trickle)
   student staff at help desk provided more exceptional service !       
   only 3 or 4 pathetic cases (mac II, etc)

   any VIPS/highlevel calls? - potentially one (Nathan). suggested
   they use webpine
   the fallback hosts were not required! (will be turned off soon)
 
   teraterm on floppy is available to use on non-secure pc's

   homer05.u - currently not secured and on.  we'll revisit 
               its future needs 

   overall result - very good !!!!!!!!!!!!

------ review of low vis services (what is left)

   desktop   - done by 6/30
   comm tech - replacing a terminal server (internal use)
     
   xdm     -  sysiphus
   telnet  -  vitcos (fastrans), roswell, curie, rmequip, olympia
                sshv1 avail on these
                sshv2 needed 
                non-secure telnet will be turned off

that leaves us with the good ol' ftp problem:

  webdav experience - authorization issues (group writable)
                      staff/fac/courses web servers
                      pub cookie auth has to be turned off
                      may need to use basic auth + ssl
                      DAV digest auth may or may not be functional

  web based file copier - Simplesite?  

  what tools do we need to keep working? lets make a list and talk 
  to vendors

  NAT - still needs work on Mac.  

  Kerberos might be removed from UWICK for windows
