Project Overview

The University of Washington WebStore application provides the functionality to handle the purchase of all manners of goods and services (courses, clothing, etc.) via the Web. Only payment by credit card is supported and is provided by interfacing with the central UW Web Credit Card application to complete the processing cycle.

The WebStore application contains the following features:

• Shopping cart and checkout pages gathering generic and purchase-specific data.
• Storage of purchase data in a relational database.
• Interface with UW Web Credit Card to enable credit card payments, credits, voids, and reports.
• Email confirmation to purchaser.
• Standard format data extract and summary display on a Web page.
• Complete error handling and user notification throughout the purchase process.
• Administrative pages to track and maintain orders.
