Your career exploration doesn't need to end with Career Discovery Week. The UW Alumni Association—and the career centers on all three UW campuses—offer outstanding career development resources for students and alumni.

The UWAA's Husky Career Network is an exclusive online network of more than 5,000 UW alumni who want to answer your career questions and point you in the right direction.

With Husky Career Network you can:

  • Find alumni working where you want to live
  • Find alumni working where you want to work
  • Find alumni doing what you want to do
  • Simply find an alum, ask your question, and get an answer. The Husky Career Network is available 24/7, and is free to current UW students and UW Alumni Association members.

In addition, UWAA Career Services gives you access to powerful Web-based career resources and networking events.

The UW Tacoma Career Development Center, as part of the educational process at UW Tacoma, provides quality services to assist undergraduate, graduate, and alumni in developing and fulfilling their career objectives.

We provide students and alumni with expertise, resources, and access to potential employers. Our services address the three stages of the career development process:

    • Self-assessment – discovery of individual strengths and talents
    • Exploration of the world of work – applying self-knowledge to the discovery of career opportunities
    • Search for employment or graduate school – integration of knowledge, experience, and skills toward successful professional growth and life beyond UWT

Students and alumni will experience the career development cycle many times during their work lives, and the Career Development Center is available at each step in the process.

Our services and resources include assessment testing (skills, interests, values), help in selecting a major, career counseling, peer advising, resume development, career and internship planning, practice interviews, career library and handouts, job search and networking strategies, and salary negotiation.
