Interested in applying for jobs at the UW? "Resumes the UW Way" is designed for staff, students, and alumni. Develop an effective resume for the UW -- or improve the one you've got. This workshop will provide the key ingredients for making your resume stand out from the rest!

Topics will include:
* The most effective resume format for the UW Hires system.
* How to identify and use keywords to your advantage.
* Tips for getting your resume selected.
* Resume and cover letter resources.

Panelists:

Linda Anderson
Employment Specialist, Campus Human Resources Operations
Linda Anderson has been with University of Washington Human Resources for over 20 years. In her current role as an Employment Specialist, she provides consultation and advice to clients regarding the selection and hiring of highly qualified, diverse staff. Her work also involves training, community outreach, and recruiting candidates for employment at the University. In 2000, Linda was part of the first Service Team pilot that was subsequently adopted to provide fast and flexible service for all human resources-related questions. Service Teams are comprised of a Human Resources Consultant (HRC) and an Employment Specialist(ES) who work together with UW hiring managers, staff, and applicants. Linda received her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Washington and has a strong commitment and dedication to the UW.
Susan Templeton
Career Development Manager, Professional & Organizational Development - Web link...
Susan Templeton joined Professional & Organizational Development in 2007 as the first Career Development Manager for staff at the University of Washington. She has over 20 years experience in career counseling, career event planning, and workshop and program development. Prior to joining POD, Susan worked 12 years at the UW Career Center assisting undecided students and career-changing alumni with career decision-making and job search skill development. Over the years she has helped thousands of job seekers create more effective resumes. Susan has a Master's degree in Cross-Cultural Human Development from Harvard University and an interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree in Human Behavior and Institutions from the University of Chicago.
Theresa Shetty
Recruiter, Campus Human Resources Operations
Theresa Shetty joined Human Resources in September 2008 as a Recruiter to support Upper Campus Operations with their hiring needs. She has over seven years of experience in recruitment with expertise in sourcing, interviewing and recruitment process management. Prior to joining the University of Washington, Theresa worked as Director of Recruitment for Emeritus Senior Living. Highlights of her former role included partnering with hiring managers to meet all their staffing needs, supporting the implementation of the first applicant tracking system at Emeritus and successfully moving the company from using print to on-line advertising. She most enjoys finding the perfect match for candidate and employer! Theresa has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Gerontology from University of Washington.
