Author & translator entries:

If the text's original author and the translator do not already have entries in the CCALT database, create new entries for them through the following submission forms before submitting the translation:

* Submit new content: Author entry
* Submit new content: Translator entry

Names should be entered as they would be written in a bibliographic listing, i.e. surname, comma, given name(s).

Individual (stand-alone) translations:

Post using the following submission form:

* Submit new content: Individual translation

Books & other multi-sectioned translation
s:

The basic process for posting translations with more than one part and placing them together in a hierarchical structure can be outlined as follows:

* Submit info for the book title

* Submit each of the pages inside in this manner:
-- Submit the page
-- Designate its place within the book structure

( * Verify the book structure and make changes if necessary )

More detailed instructions are as follows:

1. First, submit an entry for the book through the following submission form:

* Submit new content: Book/Collection (title page)

This will also function as the title page, and you will only need one for the entire book.

2.
Next, each page of content should be submitted through the following submission form:

* Submit new content: Book/Collection (title page): Page within book/collection

This submission form can be used for ordinary pages of content as well as for section headings (i.e. "Chapter 1").
(Although not an absolute requirement, it is recommended that you try to name the pages using numbers or letters to facilitate alphabetical ordering.  Step 4 below provides a way to make multiple title changes at once, if you need to standardize the titling of pages or sections.)

3. Finally, you must specify where each page of content is meant to be located within the book outline.

To do this, after submitting the book page as described in Step 2, click on the "Outline" tab displayed to the right of the "View" and "Edit" tabs on the page's ordinary display page. Next, use the dropdown menu labeled "Parent" to designate which section the page belongs to.

For example, the parent of a page named "Chapter 1" would probably be the book title, and a "Section A" inside "Chapter 1" would select "Chapter 1" as its parent. You do not need to perform this step for the book title page as it will already be set to <top-level>. You can safely ignore the "Weight" setting in this step.

If everything looks right in the table of contents displayed at the right side of the screen, you may be done, but it is generally a good idea to go through Step 4 listed below as a final verification step when you are finished submitting all content for the book.

4. You can verify a book's outline through the following page:

* Content management: Book outline management

A list of all the books in the CCALT database will be displayed, and you can view a full overview of any book's structure by clicking the "Outline" link to the right of the desired book title. This page is also useful for making changes to many title at once, or for using the weight settings to override the alphabetical ordering of pages.

If a page is placed in the wrong order (but within the correct section), you can change its name or weight setting to correct the listing order. Be sure to click on the "Save book pages" button to confirm any updates.

If the hierarchy of a page placement is wrong, you will need to click the "View" or "Edit" link to the right of its listing, then redo step #2 as listed above to specify its correct parent setting.

If you have submitted a page but it does not appear anywhere in the book structure outline, you may have forgotten to place it into the book structure. If you have submitted a book page and forgotten to place it into any book, it should be listed on the following page:

* Book outline management: Orphan pages
