Tanongsak Yingratanasuk

Project name/description
The Structure and Function of the Occupational Health System in Thailand. A review of the development of occupational health system in Thailand, including the redistribution of responsibilities among government ministries and regulations.

An Assessment of Lung Disease and Silica Exposure among Stone Carvers in Thailand. A study of  silica exposure and silicosis among stone carvers in Chonburi Province in Thailand. This study has provided information important to the silicosis surveillance and control program.

About Tanongsak Yingratanasuk
Tanongsak Yingratanasuk has received a Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene from UW in 2001 under the supervision of Professors Noah Seixas, Scott Barnhart and Drew Brodkins. He came back to Thailand and was appointed as Department Head until 2004 and the Assistant to the President for International Relations of Burapha University until 2006. At present he is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Hygiene at the Department of Industrial Hygiene and Safety, Faculty of Public Health, Burapha University. His research interest includes occupational exposure assessment and cottage industrial health such as handicraft workers. He is currently investigating on the health effects of cooks using traditional method for cooking (wood smoke exposure). He is also participating in a national project to develop the management system for quality of work life for the Thai workforce.
