Project Title

A service-learning honors program in a health professions college

Project Description

The intent of this project is to develop, pilot, and evaluate a new service-learning honors program in a health professions college. Review of the literature indicates there are articles on service-learning and articles on honors programs, but not a combination of the two. The program will be piloted in the 2002/2003 academic year, and health professions honors students will receive recognition for completing the program and service-learning activities. Two courses will be developed, one international mission course and a second course focused on the local community.
