The Wellesley Institute supports innovative community-based research,

Institute
of Population and Public Health (IPPH), Canadian Institutes of Health
Research (CIHR)
IPPH supports research into the complex interactions (biological, social,
cultural, environmental), which determine health; and its application
to improve the health of both populations and individuals. One of its
innovative initiatives is the Centres for Research Development Program,
which supports seven interdisciplinary research and knowledge translation
Centres to further understand and address the impacts of physical and
social environments on health.
Institute
of Aboriginal Peoples' Health (IAPH), Canadian Institutes of Health Research
(CIHR)
IAPH supports research to address the special health needs of Canada's
Aboriginal people. The IAPH was established in June 2000, along with the
twelve other Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Its role is
to lead a national advanced research agenda in the area of aboriginal
health and promote innovative research that will serve to improve the
health of aboriginal people in Canada.

Research Foundation (CHSRF)
CHSRF supports the evidence-informed management of Canada's healthcare
system by facilitating knowledge transfer and exchange - bridging the
gap between research and healthcare management and policy.

Health Initiative of the Canadian Institute for Health Information
The Institute of Infection and Immunity, Canadian Institutes of Health Research
III supports research and helps to build research capacity in the areas of infectious disease and the body's immune system. The Institute sponsors an HIV/AIDS community-based research program.

of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes (INMD), Canadian Institutes of Health
Research (CIHR)
INMD supports research to enhance health in relation to diet, digestion,
excretion, and metabolism; and to address causes, prevention, screening,
diagnosis, treatment, support systems, and palliation for a wide range
of conditions and problems associated with hormone, digestive system,
kidney, and liver function.
Delta NIRI
The Lower Mississippi Delta Nutrition Intervention Research Initiative (Delta NIRI) is a unique partnership between the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, ten university institutions, and three rural communities. Using community-based participatory research Delta NIRI is improving health and well being through nutrition intervention research in the Lower Mississippi Delta of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Network (CON)
CON focuses the expertise and dedication of more than 1,000 member researchers,
clinicians, allied health care providers and other professionals with
an interest in obesity in a unified effort to reduce the mental, physical
and economic burden of obesity on Canadians.
Institute for Life Course and Aging, University of Toronto
The Institute engages in interdisciplinary research and teaching on the life course and aging. Current community-based projects focus on aging in place and older homelessness. The Institute also houses the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE), a National Centre of Excellence dedicated to sharing research about evidence-based practice across the university-community continuum.

NIICHRO is a national not-for-profit organization working to support Community
Health Representatives (CHRs). CHRs are front-line unregulated health
workers in Aboriginal communities whose tasks entail health promotion,
health education and disease prevention at every phase of the life cycle.
The Youth Leadership Institute
YLI builds communities where young people and their adult allies come together to create positive social change. Building on real-world program experiences, YLI creates customized training program experiences in Environmental Prevention, Youth Philanthropy, Civic Engagement & Policy, and Youth Led Action Research.

Wisconsin Partnership Program (HWPP), Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW)
HWPP of the Medical College of Wisconsin is part of the Advancing a Healthier
Wisconsin endowment. HWPP utilizes the community-academic partnership
model to improve the health of Wisconsin residents. CCPH conducts the
merit review of project proposals that are competitively reviewed every
year to determine funding.

into Health: Health Professions Education for American Indians and Alaska
Natives Utilizing Distance Learning, On-site Education, and Cultural Integration
Pathways into Health is a collaboration of over 200 individual Tribal
and academic participants, 9 major University academic institutions, Tribes,
Tribal colleges and the Indian Health Service focused on bringing culturally-reinforcing,
interprofessional health education to AI/AN students on their home reservations,
utilizing distance learning and cutting edge telehealth technology.
