CCPH 12th Conference

Community-Campus Partnerships as a Strategy for Social Justice:
Where We’ve Been & Where We Need to Go

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR PARTICIPANTS

CCPH is working hard to secure funds for scholarships to ensure the full participation of students and individuals from community-based organizations and developing countries. If you have suggestions of possible funding agencies that we should approach for scholarship support, please let us know.

Current scholarship opportunities for conference participants are listed below. Please review these carefully as they may have different eligibility criteria, priorities and application deadlines.

For fundraising ideas, we recommend the article "8 Ways to Raise $2500 (or more) in 10 days (or less, sometimes)" from the September/October 2003 issue of the Grassroots Fundraising Journal. Local foundations are possible sources of support, as this article about how a CCPH member raised funds for student participation demonstrates. If you need a letter of support to bolster your fundraising efforts, email us.

Financial Support for Community-Based Participants from Selected Areas in Texas - Jan 23 Application Deadline

Thanks to the generous support of St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities in Houston, TX, funding is available to help off-set registration, lodging and travel expenses for selected community-based participants who live within the 57-county Episcopal Diocese of Texas.  Individuals who are full-time students or employed by a higher educational institution or government-based agency are not eligible to apply.    Applications will be reviewed by CCPH staff for the extent to which they make a compelling case for their participation at the conference and their need for financial support from the fund to attend.  In making a final selection among worthy applicants, demographic diversity will be sought.  Applications for financial support must be submitted using the online form below.  Applicants will be notified of the decision on their application by February 1, 2012.

Bobby Gottlieb Scholarship Fund - Jan 23 Application Deadline

In January 2010, the CCPH Board of Directors established the Bobby Gottlieb Scholarship Fund in recognition of Bobby Gottlieb's exemplary leadership as 2008-2009 CCPH board chair and her unparalleled commitment to ensuring that CCPH be an inclusive organization that breaks down financial and other barriers to participation. The Fund provides scholarships for those unable to participate in CCPH events and programs without financial assistance.  All donations are fully used for this charitable purpose; none are used for administration.  Individuals traveling to the CCPH conference from Canada, Mexico or the U.S. may request support from the Fund to defray their registration, travel and lodging expenses.   Applications will be reviewed by the Bobby Gottlieb Scholarship Fund Committee, comprised of current and former CCPH board members and others invested in broadening participation in CCPH.   In reviewing applications, the Committee will assess the extent to which the applicant makes a compelling case for their participation at the conference and their need for financial support from the Fund to attend.  In making a final selection among worthy applicants, demographic diversity will be sought.  Applications for scholarship funding must be submitted using the online form below.   Applicants will be notified of a decision on their application by February 1, 2012.

To apply, click here.

The Fund is grateful for the generous donations of CCPH members and others who seek to ensure that CCPH upholds its commitment to community participation.  To make a tax-deductible donation to the Fund, click here.
