Mission Statement
The purpose of the Center for Neurogenetics and Neurotherapeutics (CN&N) is to bring together basic science researchers who work on neuro-biologically based disease processes that impair the function of the brain, the nervous system, or the musculature. The disorders to which the Center is to be dedicated are seen in all age groups, ranging from prenatal onset to those having onsets in late adult life.
A key goal of the Center will be to bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines, and to promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to disorders of the nervous system. In this way, the Center will accelerate advances in our understanding of nervous system disorders and of the nervous system itself, with the ultimate goal of translating these advances into meaningful therapies for the many people who suffer from neurological diseases.
