English Department Graduation Celebration

Event Comments:

The Department of English hosts an annual Graduation Celebration for all graduates and their guests. At this celebration, we honor English graduates, who process across the stage, in front of the English faculty, in the Meany Auditorium, one by one as each graduate's name is called. The ceremony lasts about an hour and a half and is followed by a casual reception. A SEPARATE RSVP IS REQUIRED for the English ceremony in order for graduates to participate and receive guest tickets. Please use our catalyst survey to order your tickets for English at by May 22nd, 2016. Meany Hall, by policy, will not admit any guest who arrives without a ticket. We'll look forward to seeing you and your guests on June 8th!

Tickets Required?

Yes, tickets will be required for all guests by Meany Hall policy.

Cap and Gown Required?

No (with the exception of PhD graduates, who must purchase or rent and wear the academic apparel as they will be seated on the stage).

Parking Info

If you wish to park on campus, pre-paid parking permits will be required for this event. Students should purchase these permits for themselves and their guests through the order form, May 4 to May 22, 2016.

Commencement Day Schedule

June 11, 2016 / Husky Stadium
12:30 - Stadium doors open (bag inspection performed).
12:30 - Grads line up on the Outdoor Practice Field (security inspections performed).
1:30 - Procession begins
4:30 - Ceremony concludes

Rain or shine

Let's hope for a beautiful, sunny day! However, if it rains, plastic ponchos will be handed out to graduates. Umbrellas are permitted.
