Dr. Barnabas has 10 years of experience and training in mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, health economics, infectious diseases epidemiology and clinical care, as well as knowledge of health care systems in the United States and Africa.
Her research focuses on HIV prevention, specifically on interventions that reduce HIV viral load and, consequently, HIV transmission. Her projects use both empiric data and mathematical models to better understand HIV transmission and estimate the potential impact of HIV prevention strategies.
