This RFA is designed to stimulate research collaborations on HIV-associated malignancies between investigators at NCI-designated Cancer Centers and investigators affiliated wtih AIDS Malignancy Consortium sites.
The main purpose of this award is to stimulate collaborative research that will expand our knowledge of the pathogenesis of HIV-associated cancers. Through this award the funder (NCI) seeks to foster multidisciplinary collaborations between Cancer Centers (CC) and AIDS Malignancy Consortium (AMC) investigators. It is anticipated that this research will lead to the development of novel diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic strategies for both AIDS-defining and non-AIDS-defining malignancies. Awardees should plan to use pilot-grant derived data as the basis for subsequent applications to other funding sources.
Up to $100,000 total costs is available for pilot projects. Applications are due by Friday, November 1, 2013.
