Computational Biology Core
Mission
The specific aims of the UW CFAR Computational Biology Core are:
- Assist HIV investigators in the quality control and detailed phylogenetic and bioinformatics analyses of viral sequences
- Develop and make available new gene technologies and computational tools including predictive algorithms for viral co-receptor usage, phylogenetic tests for tissue and cellular compartmentalization and viral reservoirs, methods for comparison of viral evolutionary parameters
- Develop computational tools and web interfaces for integrated analyses and project management, from bedside to bench to bioinformatics
- Train and support CFAR members in uses of analytical methods of genetic data
