STD/AIDS Research Training Fellowship Program

Core Curriculum

All pre and postdoctoral trainees supported by the program are required to fulfill the Core Curriculum described below. Course fees will be waived as part of the training grant fellowship.

Required Attendance

  • Annual international 2-week course on Principles of STD and AIDS Research (All trainees required to attend once)
  • UW Biomedical Research Integrity Series (All trainees are required to attend one full series)
  • STD & AIDS Research Symposium, held each Fall
  • STD & AIDS Research Winter Dinner, held each Winter
  • STD and HIV Training Retreat, held annually each Spring
  • Survival Skills for the Research Years, held during the Summer
  • Focused research conference, seminars, and symposia relevant to trainees' area of research (see below)
  • MD trainees will receive clinical training experience in STD, HIV/AIDS, and HIV/viral hepatitis clinics

  • STD Clinical Conference (Monthly)

  • School of Social Work Forum on Counseling Methods
  • Fogarty Center AITRP Research Conference (Monthly)
