Muhammad Niswar holds the BE of Electrical Engineering at the
Hasanuddin University, Makassar, Indonesia. He joined the Department
of Electrical Engineering, Hasanuddin University in 1999 and then
holds a PhD in Information Science from the Nara Institute of
Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan in 2010 and a Master of
Information Technology (M.InfoTech) in Computer Engineering from
University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia in 2001. Before joining at
Hasanuddin University, he was a wireless network engineer in Lucent
Technlogies.Inc from 1997 to 1998.
In spring 2004, He was appointed as a visiting scholar at Keio
University. From 2006 to 2011, he was network administrator for
Asian Internet Interconnection Initiatives (AI3) at NAIST-Network
Operation Control. From 2010 to 2011, he was Assistant Professor at
NAIST, Japan. He is also Cisco Networking Academy Instructor at
NAIST and University of Tokyo and he holds a professional
certification in computer networking: Cisco Certified Network
Associate (CCNA). Since 2002, he has been system administrator of
School On Internet – Asia (SOI-ASIA) project at Hasanuddin
University.
Currently, he has been appointed as a Director of Information and
Communication Technology Center at Hasanuddin University and
Visiting Fulbright Scholar at University of Washington, WA, US. His
research interest include wireless communication, wireless sensor
network, mobile application development, embedded system, delay
tolerant network, cloud computing and network management
