A Timeline of Family History and Genomics Questions from BRFSS

The University of Washington's Center for Genomics and Public Health has constructed a timeline of Family History and Genomics Questions asked by each state as part of its optional state-added BRFSS module. The timeline places emerging conditions and health issues in a public health context and provides a visual representation of the overall categories of questions asked by specific states. The timeline contains questions in twelve categories asked by twenty states and frames a period of sixteen years from 1996-2011. The timeline is a tool that can be used to inform public interest in distinct areas of Genomics and Family History.
