Construction around the CHDD

Several construction projects are taking place in close proximity to the CHDD complex. University of Washington Medical Center is expanding their facilities south toward our Clinic Building and the Experimental Education Unit. The new facility will be located above the existing Columbia Road. Columbia Road will be closed in front of the Clinic building and EEU until 2012.

Health Sciences Express Shuttle

Buses run between the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), UW Medical Center Roosevelt Clinics and Harborview (HS Express) Schedule Map

Take the elevator or the escalator down to the UWMC/Triangle Parking Garage tunnel. Walk away from the parking garage (tunnel under NE Pacific St).
At opening of tunnel take the elevator or the escalator up to level 3 for the UWMC Main Entrance. Turn west (left as you step out of the elevator, right from the escalator), and enter the UW Medical Center lobby through the double glass doors. Proceed to the Information Desk.
At the Information Desk, obtain maps and directions to the CHDD during the 3-year period of construction.

To reach the CHDD from this shuttle stop:

Enter the UWMC doors and proceed to the elevators. Go up to floor 3. Exit the elevator and walk to the right around the elevator column until you reach the central Hospital hallway. Proceed left down the main hallway to the Information Desk.
At the Information Desk, obtain maps and directions to the CHDD during the 3-year period of construction.

Drop-offs at the CHDD

Fencing is erected in and around the loading zone/parking lot S-9--on the west side of the CHDD clinic building. Although limited access should be available, you must enter the CHDD from the west side, first floor until 2012.

There is no drop-off zone on Columbia road until 2012.

Valet Parking
There is no additional fee for valet parking.

S1 Parking Garage
Height Clearance: 7 feet 5 inches
Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 10:00 pm
Parking is complementary at night and from noon Saturday until 6 am Monday, except during special events, such as Husky home games.

Drive to east end of Sq and look for CHDD designated parking stalls. Exit S1 east end and enter CHDD Clinic building. Note that clinics do not validate parking for this area.

Parking Fees and Validation

Most CHDD clinics provide reduced rate parking validation for families with patient appointments. Validation reduces the price of parking. Request parking validation at the CHDD clinic you are visiting. The parking fee is determined by the length of your stay. The maximum fee for Surgery Pavilion, Triangle, and Valet Parking is $10 per day for patients with validation.

The maximum fee for S1 parking is $15 per day. You will receive a refund for the time you do not use.

Disability Parking

Parking for persons with disabilities is provided in all parking areas. The detailed information for each parking area (links above) provides directions to elevators. Attendants in the parking areas can also provide directions to elevators. Parking permits for disabled and wheelchair areas cost the same as permits for other UW parking areas.
