From: Guralnick, M. J. (1998). Effectiveness of early intervention for vulnerable children: A developmental perspective. American Journal on Mental Retardation, 102, 319–345.

Dr. Guralnick's work in this area focuses on the analysis of the effectiveness of early intervention techniques and programs for various groups of children at-risk for and those with established developmental disabilities. Recent work is concerned with the design of early childhood systems and identifying corresponding principles and practices that can be utilized by communities to improve their early intervention systems of services and supports. This is referred to as the Developmental Systems Model.
