This CRA involves research designed to identify early behavioral and biological risk factors for autism, identify genetic influences, elucidate the neurophysiological signatures underlying the core symptoms of autism in both children and animal models, understand the etiology and treatment of medical and other co-morbid conditions associated with autism, develop preventive and interventional approaches for young children with, or at risk for, autism, and improve the quality of life for families with autism. Also included in this CRA are related disorders, especially Dravet and Fragile X syndromes.
