Additional Resources Currently Not Supported by Core

    Brain Imaging pictures

The following resources, although not supported by the BIC, can be utilized by IDDRC affiliates and coordinated by core staff as needed. Specifically, the Tracer Development Laboratory works closely with the PET imaging facilities and is operated under the auspices of the Department of Radiology. The lab has separate wet chemistry and PET tracer production areas. The PET radiochemistry program occupies seven laboratories with 2800 square feet of floor space. These include a cyclotron vault, high level radiochemistry labs (hot labs) with hot cells, organic chemistry lab, radiochemistry lab, pharmacy quality clean room (120 ft2), analytical chemistry, and general lab. This facility is currently licensed by the State of Washington for the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals (license no. PHMF.FX.60522701). Both GE FXfn and GE FastLab radiosynthesis boxes for the production of 18F labeled radiopharmaceuticals are available. The facility is equipped with a Siemens RDS-111 cyclotron. This cyclotron produces 11 MeV protons to irradiate targets to produce a variety of isotopes, including 18F, 11C, 13N, and 15O.
