Dr. Benedetti's clinical and research interests include complications of multiple births, prevention of prematurity, fetal birth injuries related to method of delivery, shoulder dystocia, and fetal macrosomia, wherein the newborn is large for its gestational age, most commonly as a result of maternal diabetes. He is also interested in fetal birth injuries and method of delivery and in obstetric health care delivery systems. His current research includes the benefits and risks of fish consumption during pregnancy and the potential fetal effects of high maternal mercury exposure, such as on premature delivery.
