Dr. Dubach studies nonhuman primate models of epilepsy. In an effort to understand changes in the brain during the development of epilepsy in children, he has reproduced reversible complex partial seizures and status epilepticus in monkeys, by treating several areas in the temporal lobe. These studies demonstrate the possibility of long-term behavioral and neuropathological changes after even a single seizure episode. Dr. Dubach is currently primarily involved in the BrainInfo atlas project. Together with other colleagues he is developing a three-dimensional map which is designed to serve as a "database in the shape of a brain". The current two-dimensional version, a gateway to studies of the brain, can be found at http://braininfo.rprc.washington.edu.University of Washington • Center on Human Development and Disability Box 357920 • Seattle WA 98195-7920 USA • 206-543-7701 •chdd@u.washington.edu Copyright © 1996—2008 Center on Human Development and Disability.
