Dr. Jirikowic’s research interests include the neurobehavioral manifestations of prenatal alcohol exposure and developmental and educational outcomes of children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs). Specifically, she is interested in sensory processing and the development of self-regulation abilities in children with FASDs and other related populations. Current work focuses on physiological correlates of sensory processing behaviors and the effectiveness of a sensorimotor intervention to improve balance and related functional and behavioral outcomes among children with FASD.
