ADD Network Partnership on Aging and End of Life Issues
Core Function: Technical Assistance and Outreach Training
The Administration on Developmental Disabilities mandates three organizations for each state to support the interests of people with disabilities. These are the University Centers on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs), the Protection and Advocacy agencies (Disability Rights of Washington, DRW) and the Developmental Disabilities Councils (DDCs). Each of these agencies in each state and territory has its own mission and goals. In addition, these agencies also work collaboratively on priority issues in policy and services. The Adults and Elders Program at CHDD is participating with the DDC and DRW in a collaboration aimed at identifying the most pressing issues around aging and end of life, investigating the issues, and making recommendations on how to address the issues to improve quality of life for elders with developmental disabilities. We are jointly convening meetings of stakeholders from across the state to provide input and guidance.
