Core Function: Information Development and Dissemination

The Center on Infant Mental Health and Development has begun development of a 15 minute DVD documentary which will be used as an educational tool for new mothers and the professionals who care for them. CIMHD hired a videographer/editor to film three families with diverse characteristics from pregnancy through the child’s first year of life. The families began participating in carefully planned filming sessions in 2008. Footage will be used to create a video about attachment that can be used in various settings such as childbirth classes, home visits by public health nurses, and hospital newborn nurseries. The video, the first of many anticipated products, will be completed in early 2010.
