WebAssign is used for all CHM 142, 152, and 162 classes so that students can do homework and prelaboratory exercises over the internet. In order to use WebAssign, all you need to have is an internet connection. Browsers that will work include Netscape 4.5 or greater, Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater, and AOL 5.0 or greater. You'll need to have "cookies" enabled, as well as "Java" and "Javascript". (If this seems a little too technical for you, relax. The computers in the Chemistry Study Center work great!)

Each student must purchase an access code to use the WebAssign system (cost is about $6). A new access code has to be purchased each quarter for each class, you can't use one from a previous class or quarter. These codes can be purchased either in person at the UW bookstore, or online at WebAssign's website.

How to Log in to WebAssign

• Go to the Webassign login page (pictured below).
  
  
• Click on the button labeled “Log In” which takes you to the UW NetID weblogin page.
• After entering your UWNetID and password click on the “Log In” button which takes you back to WebAssign.

NOTES:

• WebAssign login now uses UW’s authentication server (UW Net ID) to obtain access.
• Each student must purchase an access code (~$6) to use WebAssign.
• Access codes can be purchased either in person at the UW bookstore, or online at WebAssign's website.  Enter the code in the assignment titled "WebAssign Registration".  There is a 2-week grace period before access codes are enforced.
• Click on the "Student Guide" for helpful information about how to use WebAssign.
