Updates on Chemistry Department building construction and maintenance.
BAGLEY HALL
There will be a test of the fire sprinkler system on October 6th between 7-8am. This test WILL NOT disturb any of the building occupants or disrupt any of the utility services. NO BUILDING EVACUATION IS REQUIRED.
Facility Services will be removing a large section of floor tiles on the ground floor of Bagley Hall on Wednesday Evening/Night. The effected area is from the West Building Entrance to the South Stairwell #8. Access through this area will be restricted after 5pm. Access to rooms 73,75,74,82,92,96,98 & 95 will be effected.
Work will begin around 5pm and last through most of the night.
This is the first phase in a project to remove and replace all the floor tiles on the ground and first floor of Bagley Hall.
Building steam will be shutdown in Bagley Hall on Friday, October 8th from 5am until 3pm to repair leaks in the supply line that serves several buildings. High and Low pressure steam will not be available during this period which will affect Building Heat, Lab Steam, Domestic Hot water, and Autoclaves.
The High Pressure Air Supply in Bagley Hall will be shut down on Saturday, October 23rd from 4am to 10am to provide a connection to the new MOLE Building. This will affect any system that uses the house air supply including Low Pressure Air. Temperature control and air flow will also be affected since these systems are pneumatically controlled and rely on air pressure to keep the valves closed. This condition will require the steam heat to be shut off as well to keep the building from overheating. This will only affect Bagley Hall.
