Chemicals and Solutions:
Hydrogen Peroxide, 3%
Platinum plated wire (in locked cupboard)
Materials:
100 mL beaker
Procedure:
Pour a small amount (30-40 mL) of hydrogen peroxide into beaker. When platinum wire is placed into the liquid, gas evolves. This demonstration works well on the overhead projector.
