Procedure:
The Galileo termometro lento contains "floats" each with a slightly different specific gravity that is accurate to a few thousandth of a gram. Since specific gravity is temperature dependent each float is subject to a change in temperature. To demonstrate its sensitivity to temperature, warm it by grasping it in the middle with your hands. Over time the floats will start to move.
