Department of ChemistryThe NMR Facility (Bagley Hall 37 and 46B) includes two 300 MHz, two 500 MHz and a 750 MHz Bruker spectrometers that cater to the needs of different types of research within the Chemistry department as well as other University labs. The spectrometers have state-of-the-art capabilities that attract users from within the UW as well as commercial users from in and around Seattle. A 200 MHz two channel spectrometer is earmarked specially for student training.
The facility is maintained and run by experienced and dedicated staff that includes the facility manager and an instrumentation specialist. Basic troubleshooting and in-house repair on instruments are performed with the active help of electronic and machine shops, to keep instrument down time to a minimum. Regular user training sessions are offered on the safe and efficient operation of spectrometers.The facility manager also provides research consultation and helps with user application requests.
The NMR Facility is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Facility Staff are available Mon-Fri 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
