Some freshman chemistry sections are reserved for specific populations of students such as "Freshman Interest Groups" (FIGs) or "Minority Science and Engineering" (MSEP). Add codes for these reserved sections are not administered through the Chemistry Department. The Time Schedule will indicate where to get add codes for these special sections.
During the first week of the quarter add codes are required for all 200, 300 and 400 level laboratory courses. Add codes are obtained at Bagley Hall room 303.
Once period III registration starts, drop codes are required for all 200, 300 and 400 level laboratory courses as well as Honors General Chemistry, CHEM 145, 155, and 165. Drop codes are obtained from Bagley Hall room 303 between the hours of 8 am and 4:20 pm Monday through Friday.
Unrestricted Drop Period
This period is from the 8th calendar day of the quarter through the 14th calendar day of the quarter. Drop codes are required for all 200, 300 and 400 level laboratory courses as well as honors general chemistry, CHEM 145, 155, and 165. Drop codes are obtained from Bagley Hall room 303 between the hours of 8 am and 4:20 pm Monday through Friday. Courses may be dropped without restriction during this period. No record of the dropped course(s) is recorded on the transcript, however, a quarter withdrawal statement will appear. There is a $20 Change of Registration Fee charged for all registration changes made on a single day during this period. A tuition forfeiture may be charged.
The last day to drop an individual course from your schedule, provided you have not already used your one annual drop is at the end of the seventh week of the quarter. Since drop codes for chemistry courses are received in person from Bagley Hall room 303 you must be sure to obtain a drop code by 4:20 pm on the Friday of the seventh week of the quarter. A $20.00 change of registration fee will be charged for all registration changes made on a single day during this period.
This registration period is open for continuing students currently enrolled or for students who completed the previous quarter.
Priority registration dates are based on your completed credits, credits currently registered for, and the last digit of your student number. The student number priority is changed each quarter so that all students have the earliest possible priority every other quarter. One half of the available spaces in each course are reserved for day two of each priority period. If a registration message states that the first day spaces are filled, then the other half will be released on day two of that priority period. You may register using MyUW on, or after, your registration date and make changes to your schedule.
This period is primarily for newly admitted students and returning former students. Advising / registration notices of dates are mailed to newly admitted or readmitted students. You may register on, or after, your date. Continuing students may register any day during this period.
This period is from the first day of the quarter through the 7th calendar day of the quarter. It is open to all students for adds and changes. Tuition Exemption Program students (UW faculty/staff, Washington State employees, and Washington State National Guard), and Access Students register on specific days within Period III. Select the Registration Period III link above to see specific dates. You may change to or from the audit grade option through 5:00 p.m., Friday of the second week of the quarter. This transaction must be done in person at the Registration Office, 225 Schmitz Hall.
This period is open to all students. All courses added during this period require a Entry Code or Faculty Number. A $20.00 change of registration fee will be charged for all registration changes made on a single day during this period.
