The 2002-2002 Nomination Committee is pleased to announce that the nominees are:
Marion Peters is Head, Public Services, Science & Engineering Library, and Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Sciences and Engineering Librarian, at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is also the University of California CDL (California Digital Library) Resource Liaison for SciFinder Scholar. Marion has been an member of SLA since 1974 and the SLA Chemistry Division since 1977. Within the division she has served as a member of the Nominating Committee, 1980/81; as Treasurer, 1982/83 - 1983/84; as Chair, Long Range Planning Committee, 1986-/87 - 1987/88, continuing as a member, 1988/89; and as Membership Chair, 1990/91 -1991/92.
I am honored to accept the nomination of Chair Elect, of the SLA Chemistry Division. In my years as a chemistry librarian I have benefited from the many activities and support of the members of the SLA Chemistry Division. I look forward to welcoming new chemistry librarians into the division and encouraging their participation, and to working closely with division members and colleagues in furthering the goals of the division and the Special Libraries Association.
Ted Baldwin is a Corporate Librarian/Research Associate through the External Partnerships program of the University of Cincinnati's University Libraries. In this position, he serves as Manager of the R&D Information Center for Equistar Chemicals. Prior to his current position, he served as Research Associate for Equistar and the University of Cincinnati's science libraries. Ted has been a member of SLA since 1999, and is currently a member of both the Chemistry and Business & Finance divisions. For both the 2001 and 2002 SLA Annual Conferences, Ted has volunteered to serve as moderator for the Chemistry Division's poster session. Ted has been the Bulletin Editor for the Cincinnati chapter's newsletter since 2000, and was a member of the chapter's Nominations Committee in 2001. Recently, he was the recipient of the Cincinnati chapter's "Young Horizon's Award" in recognition of his chapter contributions.
Suzanne Fedunok will be Chair and Denise Callihan will continue at Secretary.
