To download the latest version either

turn on the Load to Local Disk option in Mosaic
or shift-mouseclick in Netscape

The "~.tar.Z" files contain complete directories with executable and all associated subdirectories and files. If you are a new user, this is what you need. To use it just "uncompress" and "tar xvf" it and then go into the PENCIL_DIRECTORY, "chmod +x pencil_version" if necessary, and then type "pencil".

The "~.Z" directories contain only the latest version of the executable. This is intended for those who already have an older version of Pencil and just want to update the executable. No "tar" is necessary for these files.

Fixed the bug whereby the first simulation of a session didn't work.

Tuesday November 29th 1994: pencil_1.05a

Compiled the latest version on IRIX 4.2

Friday October 14th 1994: pencil_1.05

Fixed bug with rf_power calculations in the excitation panel.
The excitation panel now properly handles spin half systems.
Added "to bin" functionality for spin half in the excitation panel. Now "calculation density" can be set very small and "to bin" will connect the dots.
Added "save as ascii" button to excitation panel so the data can be saved and incorporated into other packages.

Compiled Pencil on IRIX 5.2

Monday June 13th 1994

Fixed bug with relaxation for 2 spins 1/2. Now relaxation affects both spins.
Fixed annoying button reset when calling up the lanes panel.
Fixed message window so it displays the current information.
